Born in Mobile, Alabama, Ruthi Postow has become
a steadfast Washingtonian. She is the mother of three sons. Joe
is an associate with a non-profit organization that serves the
physically disabled. Eric is a Marine Corps officer. Alex is in
business development with RuthiPostowStaffing, Inc.
Ruthi received degrees in history and education
from the University of Georgia, then taught for two years in a family-owned,
Georgia town where the primary occupation was sharecropping. This
was one of the best educational experiences of her life, preparing
her to greet every person and accept them as they are. Considering
a career in art, she enrolled in Georgia State University long enough
to create the drawings and paintings that now decorate the offices
of RuthiPostowStaffing.
"If
Ruthi says she has the 'right' candidate . . . count on
it."

She then relocated to Washington where, in less
than a month, she found the job that has become her career. Working
for the most progressive administrative staffing firm in the region,
she grew from recruiter/account executive to Business Developer.
She developed her role as she formed consultative partnerships with
her clients relationships that allowed her to bring in and
manage 86% of that firm's business.
Throughout her career, Ruthi has been active in
the Greater Washington Board of Trade, Montgomery College Advisory
Committee and her church, where she directed the acolyte program
for 12 years and served on committees to choose a new pastor and
hire the music director.
In 2001, Ruthi started her own firm, RuthiPostowStaffing,
Inc. She brought to it intense beliefs about how a staffing firm
should work, how the employees should treat clients, candidates
and each other. Her concepts worked! The firm grew from four to
seven people in the first year, doubled in the third year, and
has doubled again. In 2006 they relocated to beautiful new offices
to fit their growing needs. In 2008 the company was named one of
the Future 50, fastest growing companies by SmartCEO Magazine,
and in 2009 Ruthi was named one of the Smart 100 CEOs in the region.
After her boys, Ruthi is proudest of the part
she was able to play in the evolution of the staffing business from
"personnel agency" to staffing-consulting and that her
firm has come to be known for its exceptional consideration for
its clients, its candidates and its employees. While running the
company, Ruthi still takes an active role in managing the searches
for her clients.
Ruthi still insists on taking or returning
all of her phone calls. "I believe my success comes from being
accessible and willing to help people. As Zig Ziglar says, 'You
can get whatever you want, if you just help enough other people
get what they want.""
"Intuition
becomes increasingly valuable in the new information society
precisely because there is so much data."
