Colleen
joined the temporary division of RuthiPostowStaffing in 2007
as an account representative. In 2008 she is moving into
marketing for the division. She came because, “I was
drawn to the energy, motivation, and team spirit here. I
also really liked the focus on individual development.”
Colleen grew up a farm-girl in North
Carolina, field-and-stream country, and then
went on to travel the world. She has backpacked through Europe
and Ireland, ridden horses in Dunleary and bikes in Kilkenny. She
has hiked in the Canadian Rockies, sunbathed in Mexico, spent
a summer in Australia, and most recently spent time in England
with her sister.
Somehow she found time
to graduate from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill,
while working throughout, volunteering with the Red Cross. In
addition to her biology studies she took communication classes
and even made films. Then she went to work as a buyer for a boutique
and did more travel as she attended markets in NY, LA, Las
Vegas, Atlanta, and Miami.
We
suspected she came to Washington because she was exhausted,
but she hasn’t slacked off. When she’s not making
it happen on the job, her activities include pilates and
running (with her Irish setter, Penny), dancing (hip-hop
to ballet), DC kickball, and now she’s joining the
Daughters of the American Revolution.
