Account Manager

Colleen

Colleen joined RuthiPostowStaffing in 2007 as an account representative and moved quickly into account management. She chose to join RuthiPostowStaffing because, “I was drawn to the energy, motivation, and team spirit here.  I also really liked the focus on individual development.”

What Colleen likes about staffing is the interaction. “Connecting with people is a reward in itself, but it also makes you successful.  Learning about other organizations and what makes them tick, what makes a particular client happy, earning their trust, then successfully delivering.  It is a fun process."

Colleen was born in Conroe, Texas but grew up a farm-girl in North Carolina, field-and-stream country, and then went on to travel the world. She has backpacked through Europe and Ireland, ridden horses in Dunleary and bikes in Kilkenny.  She has hiked in the Canadian Rockies, sunbathed in Mexico, spent a summer in Australia, and most recently spent time in England with her sister.

Somehow she found time to graduate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, while working throughout, and volunteering with the Red Cross. In addition to her biology studies she took communication classes and even made films. As a buyer for a boutique she also traveled to attend markets in New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Atlanta, and Miami.

We suspect she came to Washington because she was exhausted, but she hasn’t slacked off. When she’s not making it happen on the job, her activities include pilates and running (with her Irish setter, Penny), dancing (hip-hop to ballet), DC kickball, and now she’s joining the Daughters of the American Revolution.

ON A PERSONAL NOTE

What are your superstitions? I am not at all superstitious.  If you have mirrors that need breaking, I am the girl for the job.

Describe your favorite company event. I love the holiday party.  It is a time of year when everyone is happy and drops their guard.  Just relaxing and dining together with no other agenda except enjoying the evening.

What do your friends do when they want to jerk your chain? Commit to dinner plans then back out last minute.  Do not get me excited about food just to take it away!!
