Wendy Clifford Bio

Wendy doesn’t think of her job at RuthiPostowStaffing as coming to work. She thinks of it as running away from home. Home is run by three little girls and Princess the black cat who's sneaky and spoiled, and whose favorite games are stalking the hamster, laying across the stairs so that no one can go up/down, and attacking people as they climb the stairs. Wendy’s husband Chris lives there too. He’s the only one the cat is afraid of.

Wendy graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a BA in government affairs and minors in Italian & economics, then took a career path through administration that led her to Ruthi long before RuthiPostowStaffing existed. Soon after Ruthi started the company, Wendy joined her.

Recruiting is a second career for Wendy at RuthiPostowStaffing. She came here as the business manager after being a stay-at-home mom with daughter Hailey for over a year. The next year she had another daughter, Jordan, then (surprise!) the very next year yet another daughter, Lindsay. Wendy decided to “stop working” again.

In 2008, Wendy was finally able to achieve a serious and long-term goal. She put the kids in school. Then she came back on a part-time basis as account executive for the permanent division.

On a personal note

What is your favorite part of this job? The reactions I get from people when they find a job that they truly love

Describe your favorite company event. I really loved having a scavenger hunt instead of a dry annual meeting. I loved biking all over Georgetown searching for landmarks.

If you could snap your fingers and be somewhere, where would it be? In St. Martin (French side) on a beach, reading a book and holding a large strawberry daiquiri with a tiny umbrella.

Describe your hero. Walt Disney - a man who had incredible imagination, ambition and always remained young at heart.

What do your friends do when they want to jerk your chain? I'm not giving you that one.

What are your superstitions? Never fill out forms in RED ink
